Rugged reloaded

Ob Logistiker, Wartungstechniker oder sonstiger Mobilarbeiter, häufig findet man sich in der Situation das Notebooks und selbst Netbooks zu unhandlich für die gestellte Aufgabe sind, oder abgesehen von einigen speziellen rugged Notebooks, einfach nicht robust genug sind. Nexcom stellt mit dem MRC-2000 nun eine Lösung vor, welche leicht, transportabel, IP54 geschptzt ist und den Fall auf Beton aus bis zu 1.2 Meter Höhe übersteht. Als kleines Schmankerl bietet die IPC2U GmbH diese Neuheit in seiner Basisausführung MRC-2011 mit 1.1GHz Intel Atom Z510, 1GB RAM, 8GB SSD und Windows XP Embedded bis zum 30.06.2009  zum Einführungspreis von nur 1299,- EUR an.

Der MRC 2000 überzeugt jedoch nicht nur durch seine äußerst robuster Bauweise. Aufgebaut auf einem 1.1Ghz Intel® Atom™ Z510 Prozessor und dem US15W Chipsatz bietet der MRC-2000 ausreichend Rechenleistung im handlichen Format. Auch wenn dies Werte sind die ein Consumer Notebook spielend leicht um Längen übertreffen, findet der professinelle Anwender damit in der Regel ausreichende Rechenleistung für alle seine Anwendungen. Insbesondere die eher bescheidene 3-D Leistung des Pulsobo Grafikkerns spielt unter Windows XP und bei Embedded Applikationen eher keine Rolle. Der 8.4“ TFT bietet die üblichen 800 x 600 Punkte  und eine 4 Wire Touch Funktion und ist darüber hinaus sonnenlichttauglich.

Der MRC 2011 verfügt über integriertes 802.11b/g/n WLAN sowie die üblichen I/O Schnitstellen, ein Bluetooth Modul, ein RFID oder Barcode Reader sowie ein Sierra MC8790v UMTS Modul sind optional verfügbar. Darüber hinaus steht der MRC2000 mit seinem Fingerabdrucksensor für ein Höchstmaß an aktiver  Sicherheit. Der Akku soll genug Strom für 4-8 Betriebsstunden bieten und kann durch ein externe Betteriepack erweitert werden.

Zur Erweiterung und praktischen semistationären Einsatz verfügt der MRC 2000 über eine optionale Docking Station, welche 2 x USB 2.0, 1 x RS-232, 1 x Mini card socket und 1 x LAN 10/100 base-T port bereit stellt. Für den Einsatz in Fahrzeugen gibt es eine optionale Fahrzeug Docking Station, welche USBx2/RS232/VGA/LAN/GPS & einen Mini Card Slot bietet..
